Apartment H is a three-room apartment with a mezzanine, located in the heart of Cannes. Set under the eaves, it was originally rather dark and cramped. The main challenge was to bring in more light and openness while preserving the existing three-room layout and creating a kitchen/living area with a far more welcoming feel. As the building dates from the 19th century, the aesthetic language draws on the codes of its original architecture: textured glass with a "diamond point" pattern, reinterpreted in a glass-block partition; terracotta floor tiles, whose colour we preserved as a guiding thread throughout the apartment; and terrazzo reimagined through more contemporary ceramics.
L'appartement H est un trois pièces avec mezzanine situé en plein cœur de Cannes. Mansardé, il était à l'origine assez sombre et exigu. L'enjeu principal résidait dans le gain de lumière et d'ouverture, tout en conservant la distribution en trois pièces déjà existantes et en offrant un espace de vie — cuisine et séjour — beaucoup plus convivial. L'immeuble datant du XIXe siècle, le langage esthétique employé reprend les codes de l'architecture d'origine : verre texturé à motif « pointes de diamant », transposé dans une cloison en briques de verre ; tommettes dont nous avons conservé la teinte comme fil conducteur ; terrazzo réinterprété à travers des céramiques plus contemporaines.
